Mazda has been creating products and services that delight our customers since its establishment in 1920. Mazda began as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd, founded in Japan in 1920. Toyo Cork Koygo renamed itself to Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd. in 1927. Toyo Kogyo moved from manufacturing machine tools to vehicles, with the introduction of the Mazda-Go in 1931. Toyo Kogyo entered the full United States market, outside of California and Hawaii, in 1970 with a single car, the RX-2. “Zoom-Zoom” (the love of motion experienced as a child) as a plain and simple expression of what Mazda stands for. Based on this concept, the cars that Mazda produces is imbued with the Zoom-Zoom spirit. |
